We had a very difficult and concerning experience with Dr. Amitabha Dutta during a critical phase of my brother’s recovery.
My brother had been treated for severe acute pancreatitis in the ICU at a hospital in Guwahati. After his discharge from the ICU, we consulted Dr. Dutta in Delhi for further management. At that time, my brother already had a PD (pigtail drainage) in place******* *** ********** ** **** * **** ** ******* *** ********** ** *** ********. Communication was limited, and the overall interaction often felt dismissive rather than reassuring during such a sensitive phase.
During treatment, the PD drain came out on its own within a short period. We were advised that this was acceptable and even suggested that removal of a PD is otherwise complex. Following this, no immediate intervention was done, and we were advised to return after one month with a CT scan.
Based on this advice, my brother remained ******* *** ******** ******* *** ****** *** ******. When the CT scan was finally conducted, it revealed a massive fluid collection of over 3.5 liters. At that stage, we were told the condition had become complicated and required urgent admission. However, there was no clear explanation as to how the situation had escalated to this extent despite ongoing consultations.
