Zaltrap is the trade name for Aflibercept which is an anti VEGF, a medicine that has multiple uses not just one, just like most medicines that are currently in use in medical practice. It is used in cancers too. But that’s not the reason why it was given for your father. VEGFs are used in the eye to prevent progression and treatment of certain long standing ocular conditions. He must be having a chronic ongoing condition in his eye most likely wet ARMD( age related macular degeneration) or Diabetic Retinopathy.
