Yellow horrid tasting saliva
I started taking the nexium pack for helicobactor pylori yesterday morning and now I'm experiencing yellow, horrible tasting saliva. Today we moved out of home so this morning was rushed for breakfast and I didn't have much in my stomach. Could this be the cause of the horrid taste ? Or should I go and see a GP? I was thinking that it could be acid reflux, however I don't have heartburn.. And is there any way to stop the horrid taste? Should I stop taking the tablets ?

H pylori treatment is based on a combination of multiple antibiotics given as a defined regime. Altered taste sensation is one of the side effects of these medications but it will definitely revert back to normal once the antibiotics are over. It would be highly recommended that you do not stop the antibiotic course in between and have patience for a few more days. Cleaning your tongue properly with a toothbrush (and not a tongue cleaner) after every time you brush your teeth and maintaining good hydration are the basic steps that you can take to keep your discomfort to the minimum. Regards.
