I slipped on a stone at a beach which removed part of skin near my ankle...its been over two weeks now...the wound is not healing up...on the contrary it looks like the vicinity is slightly swollen and also an impresssion is formed when the skin near the wound is pressed...Should i be worrried? Whom should i consult... Dermatologist,Gen.surgeon or gen.physician?

Thanks for the query. You should definitely consider consulting a Dermatologist for opinion and further management. The time frame of 2 weeks is reasonable for a wound to show signs of healing and resolve. Since it's persistent, some other factors need to be considered. If pus is still oozing, a culture and sensitivity should be done to direct appropriate antibiotics. Hope it helps you. It may also need dressings.
