  3. Wound in head. To take a tt injection?

Hi doctor, my head is hitted on a rusty metal plate and a scratch happened on the head. It happened 10 hours back. Do i need to take a TT injection? Attaching the screenshot of the scratch. I already applied neosporin gel on that area.

Hello there. I can understand your concern. Tetanus toxoid shot is best taken within 6 hours of the injury. You also need to consider when you had taken the tetanus shot in the past, if it was less than 5 years then its not necessary. I don't think there is a need to take a tetanus for this. Continue applying neosporin gel or metrogyl -p on this and it usually will be enough. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain.
