Hi ,I met with a minor accident and I had scratches on my feet that the skin got peeled off . I have visited hospital and got it dressed and 2 days later I kept the wound open and applied Megaheal Ointment. I noticed that ointment is forming a layer on my wound as if its a gum and I wonder if my wound inside is healing as it seems to be wet still. Also each time I apply ointment it is forming a thick layer. Should I clean it everytime before applying megaheal ointment or is it ok to apply again and again eventhough it is forming a thick gum layer. I assume, that this thick layer covers up my wound and new cells will form inside. I am afraid of the pain if I have to peel off the thick layered ointment.Is this correct or should I change anything ? Please suggest

Hi there...I can understand your concern. It would have been better if you had posted a photo of the wound. So that we could have known, if you are talking about a crust or a scab. If it's a scabies, then don't try to remove it. If it's indeed crust, then it will need to be removed to help the wound to heal. So take sterile guaze (available available medical stores, but expensive) or a clean plain cloth, dip it in normal saline(again available in medical stores) or warm water with little salt in it. Keep this dipped cloth over the wound for 15 mins. Keep wetting the cloth every 2 to 3 days. In the end try to remove the crust gently. Don't forcefully remove it. Clean the wound in this way, morning and evening and then apply your antibiotic cream. If there's any pus discharge from the wound, consult a dermatologist or general surgeon for further evaluation.

first please get an inj TT 0.5 cc im ,
you have to clean the previously applied ointment. the megaheal ointment is a amorophous hydrogel with colloidal silver so it will turn into a protective layer and enhance the growth. but best suggestion is to clean and reapply. the presence of fresh granulation tissue is suggestive of healing.
Next Steps
please do clean the wound every alternate day with saline/ savalon solution and reapply the megaheal

Hello there,
U need to clean the previously apply ointment with diluted sevelon solution,(1 teaspoon sevelon n 5 times water) when u do the dressing 2nd time.instead of keeping open better u put the ointment on a piece of sterilize gauze piece, then put some surgical cotton on it n fixed it with adhesive tape.Change the dressing every other day. do not pill the skin while changing the dressing.
