Hi Doctor,
This episode began 3 weeks ago when I suddenly started having cold like symptoms and then I got high fever, productive cough, chills, sweating and headache.
I checked with a local doctor for about 10 days, he tried some antibiotics and paracetamol but to no avail.
Then one day, I spit blood stained sputum which alarmed everything in me.
I immediately contacted a chest physician who asked me to get admitted immediately in hospital.
Got my X-ray, CT done which showed consolidation in the right middle lobe lung.
Rest CT was OK with all structures normal within limits.
Next day he advised bronchospy through nose and collected sample for testing including genetex, afb and malignancy.
I was discharged after 2 days as repeat X rays showed improvement and antibiotics were working well. Discharge letter shows final diagnosis as right middle lobar pneumonitis. But am worried with what the bronchoscopy results would be.
Am in a panic situation and don't wnt cancer :(
Help pls.
