Withdrawals from anti depressants
I stopped taking Prozac a month ago as I was feeling good and coping really well. I have been really flat, emotional and irritable. Will these pass or is it a relapse?

Thank you for asking. I can understand the distress you are through. It could be a relapse of existing depression or anti depressant discontinuation syndrome. We must consider other associated symptoms of anxiety, restlessness, sleep problem, suicidal thoughts if present. However, the management for both is same. It really doesn't matter whether it is discontinuation syndrome or depression, because the treatment is same for both. The duration and severity of the problem for which you were started medications should also be taken into consideration. You must consult with a psychiatrist soon.
