Wisdom tooth surgery
Is it mandatory for the doctor to suggest antibiotic after this surgery or is it based on situation? I dentist dint suggest any however I got high bp and high fever after that and my family doctor asked me to take antibiotics. I am confused

Yes you should take antibiotics especially if you have fever after extraction

Antibiotics after routine uncomplicated iii molar surgery is no longer supported. Mild fever after removal may occur but chills are not expected. I think it was unfortunate you got high fever. If your physician felt you needed antibiotics it is recommended.
I as an oral surgeon do not use antibiotics after iii molar removal for my patients routinely. It’s reserved on a need basis only .
