Wisdom tooth pain. Need extract or wait?
Hi I have jaw and neck pain for a while with limited mouth opening. Have noticed left upper wisdom tooth pain for 2 days now. I have extracted all other 3 wisdom teeth before. Only one left. This has little cavity on it. It's super erupted tooth. The dentist said I need to extract it. I didn't go for it as I have constant right side jaw and neck pain for 18 months and no relief yet. Also have pain in one tooth(46) which hurts for tapping and biting pressure. So didn't go for this wisdom tooth removal. This started hurting 2 days back. Couldn't see the tooth at the back. Not visible if it's broken or cavity present. I have limited mouth opening. Is it ok to get it extracted with jaw pain or should wait? Attaching recent xray. Is that cavity on left upper WT very bad?

Firstly go ahead with extraction. As it is supraerupted and it won't help in chewing also. And with limited mouth opening it will be difficult to filled it or do any kind of other treatment. So it's better to extract it. For lower molar need to check clinically. Warm saline water rinses two to three times a day. Apply ice pack from outside mouth over effected area. Still have queries then please consult with doctor online or offline for better guidance and treatment options.

Hello.. I saw the xray.. The right side pain is due to root canal treated teeth.. The wisdom teeth is supraerupted as the opposite lower teeth is missing.. The wisdom teeth has to be extracted... Don't worry it can be extracted.. I don't see caries in that.. But due to limited opening of mouth, filling will be difficult.. And also wisdom teeth filling is rarely done.. Check the root canal treated teeth.. It has to be treated again.. For pain take aceclefenac, two times a day for three days.. Then go for extraction of third molar teeth.. Thank you.. Follow me up for further queries..

From the opg we can figure out that the wisdom tooth is supra erupted. The opposing tooth is also not present. I would advise extraction of it since its symptomatic and causing trouble to you. Since the lower tooth is not present so this tooth is not helping you in function, it is just giving you trouble.
Next Steps
Get the upper wisdom tooth extracted.
Health Tips
Relax, don't stress too much about it. Don't postpone it more.
