I am a 68 year old lady, retired. Since the last 2 months I am having difficulty in breathing on and off. Now this is happening at night too. Why would I feel difficult to breathe while sleeping? Is there some disease which is progressively increasing? How do I correct this problem?

There are multiple causes for this.I would advise you to visit the MD general medicine so that you can be examined and undergo investigations such as ECG, ECHO, X-Ray, CBC, etc to find the underlying cause of the problem and have it treated accordingly.
