Whom should I consult?
My mother is currently 60 yrs old and she has undergone spine surgery 3 years ago. After surgery she started having constipation problem. She is unable to digest food and most of the time she face gastric problem, she don't feel hungry and day by day her diet is reducing. She is old diabetic patient. Plz advise whether I should consult general physician or gaestrologist?

Decreased mobility in the elderly can itself lead to constipation .Again decrease in appetite can occur with age .However ,your mother will benifit from a general phycian examine her and medications for constipation
