When should I take diabetes medication?
I take Zetamet Plus 20mg/500mg twice a day. I take it only when I eat big meals. Sometimes, I eat a banana and an orange in breakfast. On these days, I do not take my diabetes medication after breakfast. I wait until I eat a big meal like Chapati Dal Sabzi. And, then I take my diabetes medication. Am I doing this right? On some suchness mornings, I feel very weak.

Thanks for your query Diabetics are forbidden from eating big meals. Only small meals at sufficient interval of 3 to 4 hours are encouraged. Please consult dietician and get a chart of permitted and forbidden foods as per your profile and follow it. If sugars go out of control you may have to go to a hospital for intensive treatment.
