When do Glucose Test in Pregnancy
I am Pregnant having 11 week and 4 days. I have done Glucose Challenge Test (GCT)- 1hour- 174 result & (GCT)- 2hour- 174 with 82.5 gram Glucose but Fasting P.G.- 82 result, HbA1C 5.5 result,But I did this tests at 10 week and our Doctor said this is high sugar and send to endocrinologist but during consult he said this was not appropriate time (10 week) for glucose test. you come back with same Test but after 24-28 week. Blood sugar needs to be tightly controlled during pregnancy. Consider the advanced age I would suggest that u follow a GDM diet and keep monitoring ur sugar levels. The targets are fasting of less than 95 and two hours post meal of less than 120. If needed you may start an online consultation here.
