I am a 49-year-old man and I am about to go into a stent in heart surgery in a couple of days. I don’t know what to feel and I don’t know if I will be fine after the surgery. I have mixed feelings about this whole mess. What to expect after a stent in heart surgery? What should I take care of after the surgery? What are the risks of the stent?

Hi..a stent will be placed within your coronary artery only when the artery is blocked in such a way that normal coronary circulation is not happening. So don't fret over it at all. It is a simple process with a very minor risk of complications. Once it's done. You will not feel any sensation of a stent being placed.. Your symptoms should get better. There are risks of stent, although they are minimal. Always risk/ benefit is kept in mind before placing the stent.
