What is sigmoid diverticulum?is it ok ?
What is sigmoid bulb venous diverticulum? Is this something serious? I have constant jaw pain under the ear lobe and neck for 14 months now. No relief and no definite diagnosis yet. Have had CT scan of neck earlier. Nothing found. Have seen tmj oral surgeon and he sent me for MRI of Tmj. Tmj report says normal tmj joint. And incidental finding of sigmoid diverticulum. It's mentioned as incidental finding of possible small right sigmoid bulb venous diverticulum. Is this normal or serious? I asked the oral surgeon and he said he don't know and not related to TMJ and dismissed it. Is this the reason for my jaw and neck pain? What to do for this sigmoid diverticulum? Will it go away on own?

Sigmoid diverticulum will not produce any symptoms unless a clot is formed or on rare case of rupture.

Even if there is a diverticulum doesn't mean it's going to pain ... Diverticulum is just like an out pouching which happens due to a weak wall of any structure ..  but it usually never causes pain ... Plz talk to an ent specialist in detail
