So, I've had this persistent cough for more than 3 weeks now with thick white phlegm, lost about 5 kilos, chest heaviness, sometimes mild grade fever as well. The one doctor that I went to prescribed Veenat 100 mg for 10 days and I completed that course religiously. It was prescribed to me after I failed to get any respite after the 10 day medication. After talking to my pharmacist and also researching online, I got to know that Veenat is prescribed for the treatment of cancer. I'm appalled cause the doc was treating me for sinusitis and bronchitis after reading my chest xray.
Is Veenat 100 mg drug prescribed for respiratory infection?
So, I'm on my 20th day of medication(counting the 5 day with my GP) & I'm still coughing. I finally visited another MD pulmonologist who asked me if I'd undergone a ct scan and a sputum test or not? I replied I'd never been advised to do that. I shall be doing that tomorrow. I still don't know what the diagnosis is?

I am very sorry that you have to undergo the turmoil. T. Veenat 100 mg is not prescribed for respiratory infections without a diagnosis. It is best you see a Chest physician/pulmonogist with HRCT and sputum test.
