What are watering eye symptoms

Hi my son is 10 year old and recently his class friend has developed conjunctivitis. My son is also complaining of watering of eyes but he does not have itching pain or redness. Kindly guide what are the symptoms to check with watering of eyes for condition like conjunctivitis or any other infection.
