If you have reason to believe that you might be infected by HIV, the best thing would be to consult a VTCT (voluntary testing and counseling center). There are several dependable tests to accurately detect HIV> Depending on since how long you were exposed, suitable screening and confirmatory tests will be suggested to you. More importantly, you would be put through counseling, which is very important whether you turn out positive or negative.... because HIV testing is a highly emotionally-charged event.
Next Steps
Visit a VTCT. Avoid self testing.
