For the first 3 months of life,weight gain is 10 gram per kg body weight.e.g,if birth weight was 2.5 kg,then 25 gram per day.
For good weight gain,give breastfeeds at regular intervals of atleast 2-1/2 to 3 hours,the mother should have a good healthy balanced diet,and maintain hygiene in feeds.
