Hi. I have hyperthyroid and i am gaining weight as it gets worse. From what i read, hyperthyroidism increases the metabolism and humans lose weight. In what situation does the body react the other way around when your T3 and T4 levels are high?

If u have hyperthyroidism once u start on treatment ur weight will increase that is the one reason. Second reason is if over treated with anti thyroid drugs can cause sever hypothyrodisum and sudden increase in weight. To know what is the cause monitor thyroid function test.
