Weight gain due to medication
My father was prescribed Glimp M1 for diabetes .he is 5 kgs above normal weight. he is not losing any weight in spite of following strict diet and exercise .i think it is due to insulinemic action of sulfonylureas. I fear he may get osteoarthritis due to over weight. His fasting blood glucose level was 140 and post lunch was 200.these values were about an year ago . I know that these levels were an year ago and need to get latest values along with HbA1c. is metformin alone not sufficient to control his blood sugar levels given that he follows strict diet and exercise.please help me.
