Weakness and heart racing
I have been having muscle and nerve pains and neurologist diagnosed it as fibromyalgia and prescribed amigatin tablets at night ( contains gabapentin and 300mg / amytriptline 10 mg ) from last 6 months. From last 2 days I have been experiencing sudden weekness with tingling fingers and heart racing which is lasting for 15 to 20 mins. Could anyone suggest if I have to stop using this tablet?. Heard that amytriptline might cause some side effects .

Hello, at times yes it can happen, though amitriptyline us generally well tolerated & if you have tolerated for 6 months it won't happen suddenly. Your symptoms are more like pre-syncope. What is more important is confirmation of the diagnosis. Fibromyalgia has a very well defined feature set & prognosis. It requires a thorough history and clinical examination by a rheumatologist to diagnose. I would suggest you see one in person before such conclusions are made. It will also help to rule out or rule in any alternative cause for your illness, like cardiovascular causes for pre-syncope. etc.
