Hello Your son has a problem called as congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction.90 % of cases resolve spontaneously by 1 year of life.90% of the remaining 10% resolve with massaging and probing.that's why his one eye is normal now. Surgery is the best option at this age, called as dacryocystorhinostomy.the surgery has a very high success rate .The youngest child we operated on for this same condition was 2.5 years old.so rest assured.consult an ophthalmic oculoplastic surgeon.
