Skull base osteomyelitis also known as malignant otitis externa is a serious condition involving bone of the ear. If there is involvement of inner ear then symptoms such as vertigo and hearing loss will occur. Usually only symptomatic treatment is required and once primary condition is treated vertigo will settle down
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
