Do take him to a psychologist and give him the space to talk to someone who doesn't label him and listens to him from his perspective. Which might help him to open up and have a clarity about himself and his future.

Hi, I appreciate your concern for your brother. your expressed statement seems to be that he is having some behavioral issues also. As you said, he wont like social interaction/ involvement, most of the time in the bedroom. it is not a acceptable behaviour. It looks like he himself is frustrated /helplessness of his speech problem or is he scared of approaching any therapist. Please know the reason. Indulge him in the activities which he enjoys, more interaction with the family members or loved ones is required. encourage him, in the mean time you can try to consult both speech therapist and psychiatrist for further evaluation. Some times general physician will be helpful in guiding the next step of the problem. Please don't make it too late in consulting any doctor. take care.
