Vitamin k2
Hi, I have earlier been recommended shelcal 500 or shelcal xt tablets and depura( vitamin d) by some doctors I had visited earlier for general supplementation. But these supplements do not contain vitamin k2.Recently I read regarding vitamin k2 and its impact on bone health.Being vegetarian ( except egg sometimes) I wonder how my vitamin k2 requirement is getting filled and advice on getting suppliment with vitamin k2 ?Also does home made paneer has vitamin k2?

Hi Vit k is in-fact required to regulate bone mineralization, there by making the bones strong. Even though various studies are being conducted, supplementation of Vit k is still not recommended globally. Dietary products which are rich in Vit k2 are cheese, egg york, butter and meat. Vit K1 is available in green leafy vegetables. Being vegetarian u can chose from the above foods instead of supplements. Hope i clarified your doubts

Now a days calcium supplements are available with vitamin K2-7. Organic fresh fruits and vegetables, organic milk and cereals are good sources of nutrients
