Vitamin d deficiency
16month baby is having Vitamin D deficiency it is at 9.2. Doctor prescribed to have JusDee 60k granules half packet every week. Is it suggestible to have nearly 30K IU per week for the baby. I have read from online, that the upper limit for kids between 1 to 3 years old is to have is only 2500 IU, which makes to 17500IU only. Can you please suggest whether any issues with medication.

Hi , as per current IAP guidelines treatment of vitamin D deficiency include 60,000IU per week for 6 week for 1-18 years of age child or 3000 IU per day for minimum 3 months followed by maintenance dose . Tolerable upper limit for 1-9 years is 3000 IU per day .so you can follow this schedule. Thanx
