Any bleeding during pregnancy is a warning sign. If you have not already had an ultrasound scan please see your doctor for a referral to rule out any problems. Your gynaecologist also needs to examine your wife to rule out local causes of bleeding not related to the pregnancy. If the bleeding settles down you need not be concerned but if it gets heavier or turns bright red please see your doctor soon.
Your wife may wish to take rest and avoid driving or heavy lifting or squatting. Its also advisable to abstain from sexual intercourse till the bleeding subsides and your doctor gives permission if all is well.
