Vaccination
Hi, My newborn daughter got vaccinated in UAE for birth and 2nd month dose. Now her 4th month dose is due in August and we need to travel to India during that time. The vaccination due is, Hexavalent, PCV 13, Rotavirus (RV1/RV5). I want to know if the same vaccine is available in INDIA and If she can take it. And is it okay to take 4th month vaccination in India when 2nd month vaccination was taken in UAE ?

Hello, I understand your concern Yes, the same vaccines (Hexavalent, PCV13, and Rotavirus – RV1 or RV5) are available in India, and your daughter can safely take the 4-month vaccination dose here. It’s perfectly acceptable to continue the vaccination schedule in India, even if the earlier doses were taken in the UAE, as long as the brand and type of vaccine are matched as closely as possible. Indian pediatricians are familiar with international schedules and will help continue the schedule appropriately. Please ensure you carry the previous vaccination records to the clinic so the pediatrician can maintain continuity.
Next Steps
Visit a pediatrician in India with your child’s vaccination card. Mention the brand names used in UAE, if available, to help choose the right continuation here. Ensure the timing of the 4-month vaccines follows the appropriate interval from the 2-month doses.
Health Tips
There may be minor variations in brands (e.g., Rotarix vs RotaTeq), but pediatricians can guide accordingly. Try not to delay the 4-month vaccinations beyond the recommended window to maintain protection.
