Uterine lining shed

I've never spotted before my period, this was the first. I spotted for approximately 3-4 days. Yesterday, a fragment of my uterine lining seemed to exit my body. It was not a blood clot nor mucus, it was elastic like. Definitely the lining. I am experiencing sharp lower back pain as well as chest cramps on my right side. I have the chills as well.
