Upper Respiratory Tract Infection
Hello, my baby is only 4 months old and we went to see a Pediatrician yesterday. The doctor said that it seems that my son has upper respiratory tract infection. He prescribed an antibiotic and Solmux drops to help ease his condition. However, my mother-in-law made him drink oregano extract. Is it okay? And they also made him drink plenty of water. But as I researched through the internet, it is not yet advisable for a 4 month old baby to drink water. Thank you.

Yeah, you are right. Nothing is advisable to give except mother milk till 6 months, Medications and other fluids can be given with proper doctor's consultation only. As you said, upper respiratory tract infections will get settled without any use of antibiotics, Better use saline nasal drops to get relief from decongestan.
Next Steps
