I am 36 years old in generally good shape and 5 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a rare heart condition, Severe aortic Stenosis, requiring open heart surgery. This is due to take place next Friday for a valve replacement. Up until today I have been led to believe by my consultant that I am able to have the anticoagulant rivaroxaban.
Today my consultant phones me and switched on me saying that I can only have warfarin due to compatibility with the mechanical valve.
I believe I am being force
