Dear Patient,
I understand your frustration with being unable to gain weight despite your efforts. At your height of 5'2" (157 cm), your current weight of 45.5 kg gives you a BMI of 18.5, which is at the very lower end of normal range. Your symptoms of IBS-D, food intolerances, and frequent bowel movements (4 times/day) suggest your body isn't properly absorbing nutrients from the food you eat.
Key Concerns:
1. Malabsorption issues due to IBS-D
2. Multiple food intolerances (non-veg, dairy)
3. Possible gut microbiome imbalance
4. Psychological stressexacerbating digestive issues
Immediate Recommendations:
1. Dietary Modifications:
- Try bone broth or vegetable broth** for easily digestible nutrition
- Include rice-based dishes like khichdi with ghee
- **Coconut milk smoothies** with banana for calorie boost
- **Steamed apples** may be better tolerated than raw fruits
2. **Supplementation:**
- Consider **digestive enzymes** with meals
- **L-glutamine powder** may help gut lining repair
- **Probiotic supplements** (ask your doctor for specific strains)
3. **Lifestyle:**
- Keep a **detailed food diary** tracking symptoms
- Practice **stress-reduction techniques** like deep breathing
- Ensure adequate **sleep hygiene**
**Why You Need Professional Evaluation:**
Your case requires:
1. **Stool tests** to check for infections/malabsorption
2. **Blood work** to assess nutrient deficiencies
3. **Personalized treatment plan** for your IBS
4. **Monitoring** of your weight gain progress
I strongly recommend scheduling a consultation so we can:
- Perform necessary tests
