Umbilical hernia, how soon surgery?
Hey I found a lump in my stomach and I went to see a doctor, he suggested ultrasound and when I did ultrasound the lab technician said I have hernia but when I went back to see my doctor he was gone, I doesn't have any pain or anything just this swollen thing in my stomach, i took this scan yesterday, how soon should I see the doctor and take surgery? Should I watch my hernia? Will it go away alone? This is my report

Hernia is a condition that do not heal on its own, nevertheless they either remain the same or increase. Surgery is a must for any hernia- timing can be planned accordingly. According to your reports it doesn't need an emergency surgery but definitely surgery should be planned electively as early as possible.

Till surgery is planned - Apply abdominal binder- reduce the swelling by lying down and apply an abdominal binder over it- this will help prevent the swelling from further increasing - if heavy weighted - kindly try decreasing the weight- through diet and exercises which doesn't increase the abdominal pressure - if any conditions like chronic cough or chronic constipation - treat them first
