Typhoid in 6 years old
My son is 6 years old. He has been diagnosed with typhoid on 14th Feb. He is taking monocef-0. However fever is rising to 104 and not coming down even after giving meftal-p

Clinical Guidelines from IAP state that oral Cefixime (Monocef-O) is the first line antibiotic. However, antibiotic-resistance in Salmonella is growing, & so if fever is not improving, you will need revision of antibiotic, depending on the antibiotic-sensitivity pattern (hopefully culture would have been taken prior to starting Cefixime)
