Hello dear...you need to consult a general physician in person in regards to management of the diabetes. You might have to get a few blood tests done, like fasting blood sugar, post prandial blood sugar, HbA1c, etc. For now ask her to maintain a strict and healthy diet, eating food rich in proteins and completely avoid sweets and sugars. And to start doing excercises like walking. But never to overstrain or starve too long.
