TSH is 2.4 and planning for pregnancy

My TSH level is 2.4 which is normal and i am planning for pregnancy, but my gyny advised me to take thyroid 25mg capsule. Can u explain why?

At TSH 2.4 there is no need of thyroid if you were not taking thyroid medication earlier.
