Triplets Pregnancy
Hello, My wife is now 13 weeks pregnant with triplets with IVF conception. She's pregnant after 7 years of marriage. During the first scan (4th week), all 3 babies showed up with different growths. Then at 5th week's scan, all of them had same growth. On the same day, my wife had some sort of bleeding. Doctor said, one might have collapsed. The bleeding lasted for 2 days. Then at 6th & 8th week scans only 2 babies showed up. At 10tb week scan, the other baby was also seen which we had thought it collapsed. All 3 babies were healthy with growth required for 10 weeks. Doctor suggested to undergo fetal reduction. When we saw all the babies moving, we didn't have the heart to take a life. Then doctor suggested to do NT scan and decide. Even on NT scan (13 weeks), all the babies were healthy. We really want to proceed with triplets. Are triplets deliveries now common or rare in Chennai? I know conception is common. How to proceed with minimal risk?

Generally we prefer doing fetal reduction to bring down triplets to twins as complications increases with each extra baby. With proper follow-up and medications and diet, it will be ok.

Natural delivery with triplets is quite risky. That said , it is not impossible. It can be planned and a c section is to be done in a good setup. A lot depends on the individual case details , kindly take a consultation in the app with your reports .
