It is mostly due to vascular compression of trigeminal nerve root complex leading to demyelination. There are two modalities.first medical therapy usually responds in early cases. Carbamazepine or oxcarbamazepine may be used. If u dont respond then i use botox therapy. If not responding to that i refer to neurosurgeon for vascular decompresion. Rizotomy can be done. Bt microvascular decompression is better i think so.
