Hello, TTNB is very common in late Preterm and babies born by lscs…as it is 5 Th day of life..ur doctors must have ruled out pneumonia by doing x ray…they must be taking care of it and 65 respiratory rate is not very high.. baby must get settled in a day or two.. don’t worry…
Next Steps
If ur baby is tolerating feeds well and no cardiac issues then he will be settling down soon

Hi, today its 4 - 5 th day of life for the baby. Baby's birth weight is normal for 35weeks. Transient tachypnea of newborn(TTNB) it's quiet common in newborn babies especially in babies born by Lscs and in late preterm babies (34-37weeks). Both the risk factors are present in your baby's case as history given by you. And about TTNB its one of cause of respiratory distress but its not a major problem. It usually subsides by 1 to 5th day of life. Rarely it make take few more days to subside. TTNB can be treated with oxygen support and sometimes Cpap support and very rarely mechanical ventilation. As you already mentioned baby is in NICU no worries. Respective doctors will be monitoring the baby and slowly baby will be weaned off to room air. Even if after 7 to 10days respiratory distress is not settling then other causes to be ruled out.
Next Steps
TTNB is temporary and minor problem. Don't take tension. Let the baby do well, get discharge from NICU, give timely feeding, immunization as per schedule.
