Having pain in my tooth. But it is not continuous pain. It happens for some time and then resides by itself. What could be the reason?

The pain can be due to a cavity in the said Tooth or gum infection surrounding that Tooth. Unless a proper examination is made, it's hard to tell the reason. Please visit a dentist without delay.
