It is not hammertoes. My toes are bent to the side and back, forming almost a sideways "v."They are not bent or folded under, just to the side.

Can result due to improper footwear. Also due to weak intrinsic muscles of your foot. But the exact cause needs further investigation to find out the root cause and appropriate treatment.
