Taking Thyronorm 88 mcg for hypothyroid since 6 months.
Current TSH 4.71
Today did ultrasound of neck due to obstruction sensation in throat and tempting cough.
The observation is 6mm cystic nodule in right lobe and 1.8mm in left lobe. Both lobes enlarged with coarse echotexture. Suggestive of Thyroiditis.
Is this age related or need follow up.
Hi
Greetings
Need to know your TSH before starting thyronorm.
TSH - 4.7 is well controlled with current thyronorm.
Cystic nodule of 6 mm is not a concern.
Thyroiditis can be an incidental finding.
Irritation or obstruction of the throat doesn't appear to be because of thyroid.
Needs assessment of the throat.
Next Steps
Kindly consult with previous values of your TSH .
Till then maintain your current dose of thyronorm.
Will require a 70° Laryngoscopic examination of the throat to confirm findings.

This pattern, enlarged lobes with coarse echotexture, fits chronic thyroiditis, which is usually the underlying cause of hypothyroidism itself rather than a separate age-related change. The small cystic nodules you mention are common in this setting and are typically just watched over time rather than treated right away. Your TSH is a little above where it's usually kept for someone on replacement, which is worth a dose review.
Next Steps
Please see your physician or an endocrinologist in person to confirm the nodules only need monitoring and to get your thyroid dose reassessed.
Health Tips
Don't ignore a persistent throat sensation even if the nodules turn out to be minor.
