My wife is suffering from thyroid. Recently we tested and her TSH level is 6.889. So which medicines are good?

Hypothyroidism Myxedema = severe hypothyroidism. SX – weakness/fatigue, feel cold, dec memory, constipation, weight gain, depression, bradycardia, dec DTRs. PE – all (look for weight gain, dry skin, loss of hair, macroglossia, goiter, non-pitting edema (myxedema).
Next Steps
DX – TSH (increased), Free T4 (decreased). Antibodies against thyroid peroxidase (positive in Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis). • CBC, CMP, fasting lipid panel.
Health Tips
TX – maintain a euthyroid state, w/ F/U Q6 wks. • Levothyroxine, start 1.6 mcg/kg PO QD. Then adjust by 12.5-25 mcg/day q4-6wks. • 2/3 the dose in elderly.
