Thrombosis of sinus
I have had severe headache for a week with nausea on the first day. As per the doctor's guidance, I got my CT, MRI and venogram and was diagnosed with thrombosis of super sagittal sinus, right transverse sinus and right sigmoid sinus. My doctor has prescribed Ecosprin 75 and Dabigatran tab for a month. I am actually hesitant as I heard these medicines are lifelong medicines and cannot be discontinued. I have no other health issues. Please enlighten. Regards Arnab Mondal

You have cerebral venous sinus thrombosis These tablets we give for usually a month as these will dissolve the thrombus and prevent further clot formation We don’t give these tablets lifelong A repeat mri brain with venogram will be done for you after 3 months and if no thrombosis then these tablets will be tapered and stopped slowly
Health Tips
Avoid jerky movements of the head Also for this condition you need evaluation as to why you got these ? Like need to check homocysteine levels and family history of sinus thrombosis
