Throat pain with Fever
I am having fever with throat pain since last 3 days. I have been gargling with salt water twice daily. The fever comes and goes. Now, although the throat pain is negligible, but fever still persists. I have also completed 3 day course of azithromycin as per family doctor's advice.

Hello. The possibility of viral fever is more in your case, as it hasn't subsided by tab Azithromycin. Viral fever generally persists for 5-6 days, and then subsides on its own. Take tab CALPOL 650mg every 6-8 hourly to control your fever. Continue gargling with salt water. Do not take any Aspirin or painkillers. If fever persists beyond 6 days, do blood tests of Complete hemogram, CRP, MP dual antigen, Dengue serology, or contact a physician. Hope this helps.
