Hello doctor,
My mom experienced vertigo and she received treatment for the same.. some doctors said that vertigo caused fluctuations in bp as the bp was around 184. Coversyl tablets were prescribed bp became normal but her feet started swelling..so she was given another medicine instead of coversyl but even after changing the medicines she s stil having the same issue. Now back of the feet are swollen near the ankle region and it's painfull itsems ..pl let me know the reasons and also what can be done to address the problem.Thanks!

There are some BP which cause swelling of the feet but no drug causes swelling of the feet so soon.
Please get her CBC , KFT, ECG and sonography of the whole Abdomen done.
You should consult with a General Physician on Practo with all the details.

Pedal edema can be of cardiac , renal , hepatic or due to some injury. Needs to be evaluated. Can be drug induced also
Drugs like calcium channel blockers.
Cilicar is a calcium channel blockers .
Need to change her BP medicines.

keep he legs elevated while lying down by keeping pillow under her legs
don't keep the leg hanging while sitting.
low sodium diet.( reduce salt intake)
leg massage.
