2 hrs post meal sugar between 140- 199 is pre-diabetic. How much is your body weight? Do you have a family history of diabetes? Have you recently taken Steroid? Medicine is not first line of treatment. You have to increase exercise and lose weight. Diet should be low in free sugars. Only if after 6 months of compliance of lifestyle modification, you are unable to achieve the glucose targets, then medication may have to be considered.
