Sudden severe hairfall
Hello Doctor, I'm 23/M. I'm experiencing sudden severe hairfall for last two weeks. I had this problem 6years back. And a dermatologist prescribed a tablet(I don't remember the tablet name) and asked me to use SCALPE shampoo for a month. I was cured of it completely. Now that it has started again, I have started using SCALPE shampoo but no tablet. I'm not finding any improvement..Any input for me please?

There are many reasons for hair fall. So first and foremost we have to find the cause with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the common causes are nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia or patterned baldness, hypothyroidism, telogen effluvium etc. Unless we find and treat the cause there is no point in giving non specific treatment. Oils or shampoos do not have any effect on hair growth as they are not absorbed in the skin.
